Matthew has practised in insurance and commercial litigation since his admission in 1995.

Over three decades, he has built a practice defined by commercial rigour, strategic clarity, and a consistent track record of protecting his clients’ interests across all jurisdictions, including the Queensland Courts (Supreme, District, Magistrates Courts, and QCAT), as well as the Federal Court, and the High Court.

Matthew’s insurance litigation practice spans policy coverage, public and product liability, property and business interruption, professional indemnity, workers’ compensation, building & construction, CTP, and subrogated recovery claims.

His commercial litigation practice covers all types of contractual and commercial litigation including, director and shareholder disputes, partnership disputes, JV disputes, building and construction disputes, banking and finance disputes, equity, trusts and succession.

Matthew’s approach is direct. He identifies the commercially optimal path early, develops clear settlement strategies where resolution is warranted, and prepares thoroughly for trial where it is not.

When matters proceed to hearing, client’s receive detailed trial plans covering strategy and costs, evidence selection, and the reasoning behind each tactical decision.
